Two CEIRS investigators are now at the helm of the American Society for Virology (ASV). After serving as President-Elect, Dr. Stacey Schultz-Cherry (SJCEIRS) is stepping up as President of ASV, and Dr. Andrew Pekosz (JHCEIRS) was just recently announced as the 2017-2018 President-Elect. These appointments emphasize their notable contributions and accomplishments to the field of virology at large. They follow several past Presidents whose primary research focus was also on influenza, including Drs. Purnell Choppin (1985), Robert Lamb (2001), and Peter Palese (2005).
