NIAID Video Features CEIRS Surveillance on Shorebirds in New Jersey

The beaches of Delaware Bay, New Jersey serve up a veritable feast of horseshoe crab eggs for flocks of migratory shorebirds every May. A new video from NIAID features CEIRS researchers who travel to the bay each year to test these shorebirds for avian influenza. The video highlights the Network’s ongoing efforts to track influenza and learn more about how it spreads and evolves.
