Arthur S. Flemming Award Given to CRIP Investigator, Dr. Amy Vincent

The Arthur S. Flemming Award which recognizes exceptional scientific achievements of federal employees was awarded to CEIRS investigator, Dr. Amy Vincent in June 2019 for her work in animal health. Dr. Vincent is a Research Veterinary Medical Officer with the United States Department of Agriculture and affiliated with the CEIRS Center for Research Pathogenesis (CRIP). Her work has helped reveal how influenza A viruses evolve in swine and inform the selection of effective flu vaccines in pigs. Dr. Vincent was instrumental in establishing surveillance systems for flu viruses in swine in the United States, which became ever more important in 2009 with the emergence of a novel pandemic H1N1 strain.
